Winter and Spring
Snow normally begins to fall by mid-October. By mid-March snow averages 60 to 90 cm deep. But as the days darken, the snow and the Aurora Borealis lighten the polar nights and Lapland becomes truly magical.
The snow melts at the beginning of May to herald the start of Spring. From under the snow the soft green landscape of Lapland reveals itself.
