Is 'Lapland' a country?
Lapland is the name of a region in north Europe that belongs to Norway, Sweden, Finland and Russia.
How does Lapland look like? There are many hills sheltering a rich fauna and flora. Lapland is a magical place of unspoilt beauty
The weather?
There is snow from November to May. Mild in summer with temperatures reaching 20°C and a wonderful snowland in winter with -30°C in the coldest months of the year.

Summer in Lapland is pleasantly warm and you can escape to peace and solitude in a land where Reindeer out number the locals.

Autumn is a popular time to visit by the Finns for blazing colours of nature.

From the 30 May to 15 July the Arctic sun does not set. This is a popular time for summer festivals for the Finns e.g. Yllas Jazz Festival.
Also people like to fish or play golf at night!
Santa Trips
This beautiful and magical place creates an atmosphere for Christmas that only dreams are made of. Santa Claus can be found at the newly opened ‘Lap village’ in Akaslompolo, where you can see Reindeer, enjoy a Lappish meal and buy handicrafts. For the young one’s Santa will personally visit your cabin on a sleigh pulled by one of his Reindeer.
